EZ Meet Services General Meet Instructions for the 12th Irv Black High School Invitational on Friday (3:30pm), May 5, 2017 and Saturday (10:00am), May 6, 2017.

ALERT: Only teams listed for Acceptance for Head Count Entry at the meet website are allowed to submit event entries. All other team entries will be rejected.

NOTICE: Please ensure that the CT athlete names listed on your Head Count Roster match your CIAC Roster for accurate reporting of results.

All meet registration is administered by EZ Meet Services using Head Count. There are no day-of-meet entries. As a reminder, the following event entry rules are used for this meet.

Event Entry Limits:

·         Athletes can compete in any three (3) events. No boy/girl may be entered in more than three (3) events, including relays. Entry as an alternate counts as one of the athlete’s three (3) events.

·         Only one (1) relay per event per school.

·         You may not add or change athletes on the day of competition.

·         You may scratch without penalty before the start of the meet at 3:00pm on Friday and 9:45am on Saturday.

Meet Rules:

·         All athletes must be eligible to represent their respective schools in accordance to (C.I.A.C.) regulations.

·         The meet is open to coaches and their high school age athletes competing on their high school team from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island. There is a CIAC Border sanction for the meet with NY, MA and RI.

·         Code of Conduct: Athletes and Coaches are expected to behave in a proper manner. The infield is out of bounds to athletes and coaches. We will be using automatic timing so athletes and coaches are expected to stay away from the finish line.

·         Implement Check: All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.

·         Pole Vault: We will be requiring coaches to verify that their athletes are jumping on the right size poles. The coaches will be required to sign a form verifying this fact.

·         Intermediate 400 Hurdles: We will be running the 400 Intermediate hurdles. Please enter athletes who you believe can run the 400 hurdles.
Boys: Add 17 seconds to 300m Hurdle time when entering athletes.
Girls: Add 19 seconds to 300m Hurdle time when entering athletes.

Head Count Entry Instructions:

For this meet, select Start Entry below and choose your type of registration. You must then follow these three steps to complete your registration: (you should already have created a Head Count account or use an existing account):

A. Add or change your Roster Names and Grade for boys and girls
(then click Continue at bottom of page),

B. Select/place EACH boy and/or girl from the roster into the appropriate Track or Field Event. Make sure that you enter an appropriate seed mark according to directions on the screen. Make sure to use correct punctuation between numbers.
 Track races are entered as:   MM:SS.MS   (Ex: 5:18.20 for 1600m or 10.9 for 100m Dash)
 while Field events are entered as: FT-IN.FRACTION (Ex: 32-06.5 for Shot Put or 5-06 for High Jump)

C. Complete your entry with a Success page listing all of your athletes that you want to compete in the meet. You can print the page and then you will receive an email confirmation from Head Count of your entries.

If you discover that you omitted an athlete from your roster, you can start at Step-A to add the athlete and then proceed to Step-B to add to event and then to Step-C to finalize your new meet entry listing.

Note that you can make as many changes as you want to your roster/entries using the 3-step procedure until the posted registration deadline.

The Head Count meet registration is ONLY open to coaches who are listed on the Meet Reports page at the Meet website with valid Intent to Enter receipts.

 

Coaches who have not completed an Intent to Enter form are not allowed to proceed to the next page.
